Taylor Swift sent TikTok users into meltdown on Monday after debuting her first video on the social media app.

The clip titled ‘Lots going on at the moment: Red (my version) vinyl is up for presale on my site and oh I’m on TikTok now let the games begin’ shows the ‘Blank Space’ singer miming along to British rapper Dave’s song ‘Screwface Capital’, which gives a shoutout to the 31-year-old.

Swift has racked up an impressive 1.5 million followers in 24 hours and is yet to follow a single account.

Swift’s debut showed various shots from the last few years, ranging from a lacy number from her ‘Folklore’ album in July 2020 to a grey jacket that she donned during her ‘Evermore’ album to her yellow floral ‘Fearless’ dress that instantly sold out in-store.

She concluded her clip, which has received an impressive 9.1 million views overnight, with a bright red lip and an announcement that read, ‘Red: Taylor Version, November 19, 2021.’

Fans were ecstatic about TikTok’s newest addition, so much so, they headed over to Twitter to spread their excitement.

The pop sensation was prompted to re-record her first six albums after media proprietor Scooter Braun sold the master rights to a private equity company for over $300 million towards the end of 2020.

In February, Swift took to social media in February with a statement to explain her decision to re-record her albums.

“I’ve spoken a lot about why I’m remaking my first six albums, but the way I’ve chosen to do this will hopefully help illuminate where I’m coming from,” she said. “Artists should own their own work for so many reasons, but the most screamingly obvious one is that the artist is the only one who really knows that body of work”, she said.
