David Tennant, it seems, is collecting franchises. It has been confirmed that the 51-year-old Scottish actor - who returns to Doctor Who later this year - will play a role in the upcoming Star Wars series, Ahsoka.
In the new series, which will be released on Disney+ later this year, David returns to the role of the droid Professor Huyang. This is a role that he previously voiced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
David’s new role in Star Wars means that he joins a small group of actors to appear in Doctor Who, Harry Potter, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars franchise. When asked who’d be voicing Huyang at Star Wars Celebration, executive producer Dave Filoni said: "Oh, that's the doctor," referencing David’s role as the Time Lord.

Another person echoed: “i got david tennant in star wars back what a time to be alive.” And a further said: “DAVID TENNANT IS EVERYWHERE!!!”
Rosario Dawson stars as Ahsoka Tano in the limited series after the character made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian. Ahsoka will continue the character's story arc which began when she joined forces with Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin during the second season of that show.
Ahsoka is set to release on Disney+ in August. For the latest TV and showbiz news sign up to our newsletter here.
