Fans fury as Lana Del Rey's Glastonbury set CUT OFF early after she arrived 30 mins late

Music fans erupted with fury after Lana Del Rey’s Glastonbury headline set was cut short – after she rocked up to the stage half an hour late.

The 38-year-old Summertime Sadness star brought chaos to Worthy Farm on Saturday night when she headlined The Other Stage at the end of the night.

She had been due to appear on stage at 10:30pm, but it wasn’t until 11pm that she actually arrived for her slot – and her hair was still being styled on stage while her performance began.

But due to her late start, Lana ended up going over her allotted performance time, meaning organisers cut off her microphone and stopped the video link to the screens on the stage as Glastonbury has a strict midnight curfew for the large stages.

Lana was already greeted by some boos in the crowd as she arrived on stage, but the abrupt end of the show sparked a fresh wave of booing from fans who had been left disappointed – with some bewildered fans seen crying.

One angry fan told the Mirror: “It was beyond a joke. She had a headline set and ruined it by being late. I’m gutted we didn’t get to hear her full setlist.”

However, the singer took it upon herself to do a spontaneous meet and greet with fans at the front of the crowd, shaking hands and taking selfies.

Fans watching coverage from home took to Twitter to express their anger at the star getting cut off early.

One fan fumed: “Not seen anything like that before. Plug pulled on #lanadelrey for overrunning curfew and she gets the crowd to do Video Games.”

Another grumbled: “Can’t believe they cut Lana Del Rey sound @glastonbury before finishing set, best Glasto performance I’ve seen for years. Insanity.”

And another blasted: “Lana gracefully went down the stage, barefooted, and embraced the crowds after Glastonbury CUT off her set at midnight. You robbed Venice B*tch, Diet Mt Dew, Summertime Sadness, Ocean Blvd, & Video Games from us. We won't forget, we won’t.”

It comes after Lana arrived 30 minutes late getting to the stage.

Earlier in the evening, fans threatened to walk away from the Other Stage when she failed to materialise on time – while others feared she wouldn’t show up at all.

Speaking to the Mirror in the crowd as they waited for Lana to grace the stage with her presence, one festival-goer said they feared the Born to Die singer was bailing on her set.

Following Lana’s comments earlier this year about her position on the Glastonbury poster, the fan feared the star was “boycotting and sat at home.”

Another added: “She’s not even got a line-up set time for a headliner anyway, she can’t be this late for someone with such a short set.

“The Guns ‘N’ Roses weren’t even this late and they’re known for being late!”

One fan threatened to leave if Lana didn’t make an appearance “in the next five minutes”.

Back in March, there was a backlash when the Glastonbury line-up was announced and revealed there were no female performers headlining the main stage.

Lana hit out at the festival at the time as her own headline slot on The Other Stage didn't get a big promotion.

She tweeted at the time: “Well, I’m actually headlining the 2nd stage. But since there was no consideration for announcing that we’ll see” – leading many to fear she would boycott the event as a result.
