Football fans watched in with anger as internet personality Salt Bae interrupted Argentina's World Cup celebrations at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar.
Badgering Lionel Messi for a picture, the internet sensation also took Franco Armani's medal and held it in his mouth before even getting to grips with the trophy itself.
One video showed Messi trying to snub and evade the persistent Salt Bae - real name Nusret Gökçe - as the celebrations got underway.
Images did follow, however, of Salt Bae and Messi standing side by side, and fans were bemused as to why Nusret was allowed onto the pitch to join in the celebrations.

One fan fumed: "Salt Bae pestering Messi has to be the perfect symbol for all the awful off-field s*** hovering around and poisoning anything good about this World Cup."
"Messi told Salt Bae no twice while he's trying to hug his family, guy chased and grabbed him again. What a p****," a second fumed.
While a raging third added: "Somebody actually let Salt Bae touch the World Cup and he smacked it!"
A fourth tweeted: "Great final slightly ruined by covering Messi with a robe, and letting the f****** Salt Bae on the pitch to take a picture with the trophy." And a fifth added: "That was pathetic from Salt Bae".
The chain now has restaurants in New York, Miami, Dubai, and London - and it regularly welcomes stars from across the globe to chow down on some steak. However, his eye-watering prices have also captured attention, with a tomahawk steak setting you back £630.
