Fans defend Gino D'Acampo after picture of him kissing daughter on lips

Fans of celebrity chef, Gino D'Acampo, have rushed to his defence after 'haters' online criticised him for kissing his daughter on the lips.

Taking to his Facebook page he shared a snap of him and his eight-year-old daughter Mia D'Acampo kissing on the lips. He captioned the photo: "To all the haters out there... yes I still kiss my principessa on the lips, get over it and get a life."

After his bold statement, many fans rushed to the comments to offer their support. One person said "I'd give anything to kiss my dad again and I'm 46. Never stop."

Another person, Hull Live reports, said: "There is nothing wrong in kissing your daughter like that. I think it just shows how much you truly love some. I still kiss both of my parents and I'm 53."

Back in 2018, former footballer David Beckham was trolled after sharing a picture of him kissing his daughter on the mouth. One follower said at the time: "I don't care what anyone says if a dad kisses a child on the lips it's completely wrong."

But it seems as though some opinions have changed. Gino's posts has hundreds of thousands of likes with almost eight thousands comments - the majority of which are praise for his honesty and openness.

The picture was shared to many of his followers (Gino D'Acampo (social media))

One of his supporters, Anita, said: "My dad always kissed me on the lips. There is nothing wrong with that. I feel sorry for the people who think it is wrong. My dad knew boundaries and would never cross them. My dad loved me and I always loved my dad. I miss him and my mum so much. My dad always called me Princess"

Steph said: "I am 48 and my dad is 83, we still kiss on the lips and always have. He’s my dad, and to him I’ll always be his little girl, people need to stop making it weird! It’s normal!"

Sharon agreed: "So pleased I was able to give my Dad a loving peck whilst he was still with us .. nothing wrong with that. Keep going Gino."
