Fans debate reason for distinctive feature on Twix chocolate wrappers

Social media users have spotted a detail on Twix wrappers they didn't realise was there. At one point or another, most people are likely to have eaten a Twix or two, but it appears not everyone is aware of the distinctive feature on the front of the wrapper.

The caramel and biscuit chocolate snack is known for its gold wrapper, with red and white font, but fans of the chocolate bar have noticed a symbol on the dot of the 'I'. It contains two vertical lines next to each other, which many people have described as a pause button.

Many people are debating two reasons for it being there. The first of which is that the two lines are there because the product is often sold with two fingers, reports The Chronicle Live.

The second reason links to it being thought of as a pause button, going back to the early 2000s when the chocolate manufacturer Mars Inc ran a 'Need a moment' advertising campaign for Twix bars.

A voiceover in the advert said: "When you need a moment, chew it over with Twix." Fans of the beloved bar have taken to the internet to share their thoughts on the discovery. One person said: "I hadn’t noticed until now ‘Pause’ and take a break."

Another fan reacted with surprise at seeing this and wrote: "How long has the Twix logo had a pause button?" A third person wrote: "Not had a Twix in ages. The 'pause' button on the I in the logo pleases me inordinately. Neat graphic representation of product & its use."
