There has been much speculation online surrounding the disappearance of the $250k tattoo Jake Paul got a couple days before his fight with Tommy Fury. The YouTuber and Love Island star faced off on Sunday night in Saudi Arabia after two failed bookings.
Eagle-eyed viewers who kept up with the build-up of the fight noticed something looked different about the 26-year-old internet star when he got into the ring to fight the Mancunian.
Jake Paul was seemingly paid $250k by DJ Charlie Sloth for a promotional video which saw Paul get a bottle of AU Vodka tattooed on his arm.
DJ and TV presenter Sloth is a partial owner in the brand, which was launched by Jackson Quinn and Charlie Morgan - the Swansea ball boy that was kicked by Eden Hazard during Chelsea's Carabao Cup in 2013.
However, the bottle was nowhere to be seen on his arm on Sunday night.
One Twitter user, Danny, said: “Where’s your tattoo bro? @jakepaul @CharlieSloth Did the 250k disappear too or did @tommytntfury hit you that hard it came off?”
Kane asked the amateur boxer “Did your AU vodka tattoo just magically disappear last night?”
Gavin said, “Imagine being hit that hard, your AU Vodka “tattoo” falls off.”
While another user, Payney26 said: “@jakepaul hey you seem to have lost the @AuVodka tattoo you was paid £250k for. Haven't seen it at all the last few days on your arm. Defo wasn't at the fight last night, or covered over with make up or it would have smudged or ran. Let us know if it turns up.”
Underneath the comments of the video of Paul seemingly getting his tattoo, many fans had pointed out from the start that they thought it was fake.
One tattoo artist, 'squirestattoo', commented: “I like how they overdubbed the sound of a coil machine to a rotary pen”, while @hasanstagram called it, “desperate marketing.”
The fight saw the pair going the distance, with Fury boxing sensibly against the less experienced Paul, emerging as the winner of the fight despite being deducted a point for holding as well as hitting the floor in the final round.
Many had predicted that Paul would emerge victorious and he was even the bookies' favourite going into the contest.
One famous name who backed Paul to win was Drake. The Canadian rapper placed a $400k bet for the American to win, which he ultimately lost.
