Ahead of the 2024-25 trade deadline, Mavericks GM Nico Harrison made a flabbergasting move. He traded All-NBA PG Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. In return, the Mavs received Anthony Davis, Max Chrisie, and a 2029 first-round pick.
Dallas could have received more for Luka. However, Nico Harrison kept this deal under wraps and only negotiated with the Lakers. On Wednesday, April 9, Luka Doncic will return to the American Airlines Arena. Fans around the league are paying top dollar to see the 26-year-old in Dallas once again.

In his 7th professional season, Luka Doncic was blindsided when the Mavericks traded him to the Lakers. The five-time all-star gave his all to Dallas. He helped carry them to the NBA Finals last season. However, Mavs GM Nico Harrison felt it was time to part ways with his All-NBA PG. Harrison told the media he wanted to improve the team defensively. Additionally, he cited concerns about Doncic’s conditioning and how that could lead to injuries in the future.
Since being traded by the Mavericks, Luka Doncic has played in 25 games for Los Angeles. The team is currently third in the Western Conference with four games left. He’s averaging (27.3) points, (8.3) rebounds, (7.7) assists, and (1.6) steals per game. On Wednesday night, the Lakers will be on the road to face the Mavs. It will be the first time Luka Doncic is back in Dallas since he was traded in early February.
The cheapest tickets on Wednesday according to StubHub are $215 in section 333 Row G. That is a seat near the rafters in American Airlines Arena. Fans who want to sit in the 100 level could pay anywhere from $571 to $4,995. Mavericks fans still love Luka Doncic even though he is on the Lakers. It will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts on Wednesday. How will Doncic play in his first game back in Dallas?
