Fans are modding Resident Evil 4 remake’s demo to hilarious results

Resident Evil 4‘s remake isn’t out yet, but that’s not stopping fans from creating absolutely hilarious mods.

By now, you’re likely aware there’s a playable demo for the Resident Evil 4 remake. If this is brand-new news, stop everything and give it a shot. Seriously, you won’t regret it – the bizarro secrets alone make this a must-play.

What’s most surprising about the demo is people are already making mods for it on PC. Yes – well before the Resident Evil 4 remake’s launch on March 23, 2023. As they say: the devil works hard, but thirsty horror game fans work harder. More on this in a moment!

Over on Nexusmods, there’s already a handful of mods for the Resident Evil 4 remake – all of which are demo-ready. Unsurprisingly, most of these are either silly or suggestive – let’s take a quick look at what’s already available below.

The Banana Gun

Fibre is important to a well-balanced diet, right? That’s news to Los Iluminados, apparently. Thanks to modder Stevebg23, though, you can replace Leon’s gun and knife with a banana and spoon, respectively. Why? No idea, honestly – maybe potassium is a natural antidote to the Las Plagas parasite.

Shirtless Leon - ooh la la!

Look, there’s no denying that Leon S. Kennedy is a hottie. You know it, I know it – so it should come as no surprise that everyone thinks the shirts must go. Modder rt134 knows what the people want, and thus, created the Shirtless Leon mod! Mr. Kennedy seemingly dehydrated himself for those washboard abs.

Leatherface - Los Illuminados inductee

Dr. Salvador, better known as Chainsaw Man, has always been a pretty obvious hat-tip towards The Texas Chainsaw Massacre‘s Leatherface – someone who wouldn’t look out of place in virtually any Resident Evil game. Thanks to modder XxCRAZYPOTATOxX, we can now do battle with Leatherface in Spain’s countryside – hopefully, without ending up in the back of a pickup screaming our lungs out.
