Fan throws ashes onto stage during Pink concert but star has 'touching' response

Pink was stunned recently when she realised a concert goer had seemingly thrown the ashes of their mother up onto the stage as she performed on tour.

The US songstress, 43, was effortlessly belting out classic tune Just Like A Pill at Hyde Park when she spotted the small package by her feet.

With a look of confusion, the superstar then stopped for a moment to interact with a member of the crowd, saying: "Wait, this is your mom?"

And after a nervous laugh Pink added: "I don't know how I feel about this," before taking the clear bag to the edge of the stage and placing it beside a speaker.

Her actions, which were caught on camera and shared on social media, have now been praised by an expert in body language.

Judi James told the Mirror the singer made a lovely gesture at the end of the clip, which could have meant the world to the person who brought the ashes.

Judi said: "Pink smiles sheepishly before launching back into her song but her next gesture could have been seen as touching for the fan. Pink puts her left hand over her heart, giving the fan their message whether the gesture was a regular part of the act or not."

Speaking about the whole situation, Judi revealed she thought Pink handled the moment admirably.

She said of the initial discovery of the bag: "Laughter or a look of horror might have been inappropriate if there was someone mourning their loss out there in the audience. But the 'gift' did seem to draw on all of Pink’s maturity as a performer in the moment of confusion."

She continued to discuss how her body language was crucial to hopefully not making this become a regular item for concert goers to bring to gigs: "Recently there has been an outbreak of audience gestures that range from the marriage proposal at Elton’s Glasto gig to the phone that got thrown at poor Bebe Rexha, so any display that looks too encouraging of show-stopping actions or events might not be a great idea for future performances in case it becomes a trend."

Describing Pink's actions, Judi said her curiosity soon morphed into confusion and described the scenes as being "like a head teacher confiscating someone’s loot".

She added of her expression throughout the interaction: "[It was] an expression of shocked disbelief but happily not open rejection or disgust.

"Her mouth falls open in surprise and her pose looks frozen. Creeping forward gingerly she puts the packet down again with a small, nervous-looking fiddling movement of her fingers."
