Alabama has found its replacement for Nick Saban, as Washington coach Kalen DeBoer is expected to take over for the Crimson Tide. The move completes a meteoric rise for DeBoer, who was the offensive coordinator at Indiana just three years ago.
DeBoer was a dominant coach for Washington, ending his time in Seattle with a 25-3 record. In the midst of this dominance, one fan of social media called this kind of rise for DeBoer in early October 2023, going as far as to predict that he would replace Saban at Alabama once the legendary coach decided to retire.

At the time of this post, Washington was 5–0 on the season but had yet to play its toughest Pac-12 opponents like Oregon, USC and Utah. That didn’t stop this fan from predicting that DeBoer would keep up his success enough that Alabama would take notice.
Once it became clear that DeBoer was headed to Tuscaloosa, fans found this post and couldn’t believe that one person made this prediction.
