A fan at Yankee Stadium was ejected from Game 4 of the World Series after prying a foul ball out of the glove of Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts on Tuesday night. The incident occurred in the first inning when Betts leaped at the wall in foul territory to catch Gleyber Torres' pop up. However, a fan in the first row wearing a gray Yankees’ road jersey grabbed Betts' glove with both hands and pulled the ball out, resulting in Torres being called out on fan interference.
This was not the first time Torres had an at-bat impacted by fan interference during this World Series. In Game 1 at Dodger Stadium, with two outs in the ninth inning, Torres hit a fly ball to left field, and a fan reached over to catch the ball, leading to Torres being awarded a double.
Despite these incidents, the Los Angeles Dodgers were in control of Game 4, holding a 2-0 lead after Freddie Freeman's two-run homer in the top of the first inning off Luis Gil. The Dodgers, who are now one win away from securing their second title in five years, demonstrated their dominance on the field.
As the World Series continues, the focus remains on the intense competition between the Dodgers and the Yankees, as well as the excitement and drama that come with every game. Fans eagerly anticipate the outcome of this highly anticipated series, which has already seen its fair share of memorable moments and unexpected turns.
