A TRAIN station in Scotland has been named one of the best places to travel to in Britain for a car-free holiday.
The scenic destination may look very familiar as it has appeared in a number of classic films like Trainspotting.
The station was named alongside places across the UK, including Hastings in East Sussex and Ambleside in Cumbria, in a list of destinations for those looking to get away without their own vehicle.

Corrour train station in the Highlands of Scotland has been named one of the best places to travel to for a car-free holiday by The Times.
Discussing the destination, the publication said that a different kind of car-free thrill comes when stepping off the train at Corrour station.
Located three hours north of Glasgow, passengers will find themselves near the "highly rated" Station House restaurant as well as three small bedrooms in the former signal box (this is available between late March and October).

A mile or so east of the station, visitors will also find the Loch Ossian youth hostel, a popular abode for hikers looking to explore the area.
Beyond these spots, passengers coming here will be treated to breath-taking natural beauty as well as peace from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Without your motor, the train line will be your sole way in or out. All that's left to do when you arrive is to don your walking boots, conquer the nearest mountain (Leum Uilleum) and "let your worries blow away in the wind."
