Famous North East faces pay tribute to their mums this Mother's Day on Instagram and Twitter

This Sunday is Mother's Day, and like the rest of us, some of the North East's most famous names have been paying tribute to their mams for everything they do.

Many stars from musicians to TV personalities have taken to social media to show their appreciation and also share how they are spending time with their mams today.

We've rounded up some of our favourite messages we've seen online from North East celebrities.

The X-Factor winner and musical sensation took to Twitter to wish all mums a happy mother's day.

Ex-Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison took her mum Carroll out for drinks and food at Novo Restaurant in Morpeth. She wrote: "Love you with all my little heart."

Podcasting sensation Rosie Ramsey shared a couple of selfies with her mum Sandra. Rosie, who is married to fellow North East comic Chris Ramsey, wrote: "Happy Mother’s Day to all you Ma’s out there!

"Hope your kids all give you the gift you really want/need and leave you alone for five minutes.

"BAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NOT LIKELY.

"Good job we love em."

Comedian Sarah Millican reached out to all those people who may, for whatever reason, find Mother's Day difficult.

Posting on Instagram, she wrote: "Hugs to those who find Mother's Day a struggle.

"Whether you don't get on, she's no longer here, you can't be with her or whatever your story, I'm sending love xxx"
