The event took place in tribute to the Manchester Arena bombing victims with the fundraiser marking the fifth anniversary of the tragic incident. The legends team ran out as 8-3 winners over the celebs.

But we reckon Liverpool fan Danny Miller was happy to score at Manchester City’s Academy Stadium - which hosted the fun. You can watch Danny’s goal below which was assisted by former Emmerdale colleague Jay Kontzle.

Another famous face from Emmerdale Joe-Warren Plant also featured. As well as the Emmerdale stars, the celebrity team included comedian Jason Manford and Blossoms singer Tom Ogden.

While the football legends side consisted of former Manchester United player Wes Brown as well as ex-Manchester City stars Shaun Goater and Paul Dickov along with former England international David Dunn and Matt Le Tissier. Lots of fans attended to support the charitable event.

Comedian Jason Manford, a Manchester City fan, posted on Twitter: “Wonderful to play @McrRemembers Football Match. Not only loads of fun and mental moments ‘Jase, mark Goater!’. But to remember those victims 5yrs on and to show the families that not only do we remember but that those lives mattered. Was a privilege to be involved.”

You can find out more about the event by visiting the Manchester Remembers Twitter account. There you’ll also find information about donating to the charity cause.
