The famous Whitelock’s team are taking on a new venture outside of Leeds city centre.
Whitelock’s, which also owns The Turk’s Head in Leeds city centre, are working on a major refurbishment of the East of Arcadia - based in Meanwood. Following £150,000 work of investment the venue, in Meanwood Road, will open in October.
Once it is open for business the venue will be able to cater for 160 guests with a focus being on craft beers of Yorkshire. In terms of food, the Meanwood Tavern will enjoy a kitchen residency from local pizza fave Well Oiled.

At the start of this month, ahead of the rebrand, the team posted an update on their Facebook page. They said: “We’re sure you’ve all heard the news but, please read on. Today we shut our doors, and we’re waving goodbye to East of Arcadia but we’re returning in a few weeks (after a big refurb) as the Meanwood Tavern.
“We’re so excited to show you what we’ve got in-store, so please make sure you follow Meanwood Tavern on here to find out more about what we’ll have to offer, and when we’re going to be back.Keep your eyes peeled, and we’ll see you on the other side.”
