An ice cream store is selling 99's for 99c for one day only in Dublin, with shoppers only having to prove one thing to avail of the offer.
The famous 99' Flake was invented in the Cadburys factory in Birmingham in the 1930s and while many may think the name relates to it being 99 cent at the till, the chocolate-making company has stated that the origin behind the name has been "lost in the mist of time."
This week, news reports focused on the famous flake that makes the 99' as special as it is.

A report on Claire Byrne's Radio 1 morning chat show this week outlined that people have reported that the quality of the flake has dropped, since Cadbury's moved production to Egypt. In addition, it is rare to find a 99' for less than €2 anywhere in the country, with some even topping off at €4.
In spite of this, Cafollas 99’ for 99c is back this week at Cafollas On The Pier, Dun Laoghaire, in Dublin.
After the success of the first 99’ for 99c event at Cafollas On The Seafront in Bray, County Wicklow, Cafollas Ice Cream is doing it again, this time coming to Cafollas On The Pier on Dun Laoghaire’s East Pier.
They said: "Pick up a 99’ Ice Cream Cone for only 99 cents! This Thursday, June 1 from 12pm – 6pm. All you have to do is show the team that you follow @CafollasIceCream on social media to redeem this cone-tacular offer!"
Cafollas Pier also offers coffees (serving TwoFifty Square Speciality Coffee) and other Cafollas ice cream options and are urging the public to come down and join Paolo and the team on this day and enjoy a 99.
Paolo Cafolla said: “This was such a huge success in Bray we are doing it again! The most popular option in Bray was 99’ with sprinkles so lets see what comes out on top in Dun Laoghaire!”
