Family welcome best present ever as newborn tot arrives on Christmas day

A Sauchie family received the best present of all this Christmas - a baby girl who they called Holly to mark her festive birthday.

The healthy tot was born to proud parents Steven and Lyndsay Marshall at 8.09pm on December 25 weighing 7lbs and 10oz.

She had been due on January 2, but mum Lyndsay had to go into hospital on December 21 and was induced at 6pm on Christmas Day.

The family decided on the name Holly in advance and it was just luck that the baby arrived in perfect time.

Lyndsay said: “We had decided her name was going to be Holly a week or so before Christmas.

“We did have other names, but Christmas was the deciding factor.

“And as it turned out, with Holly being born on Christmas Day, it couldn’t have been more well chosen.”

Holly’s four-year-old sister Molly was looked after by her gran Helen and uncle David and Auntie

Gail and cousins Ruby and Ella while Steven and Lyndsay were at Forth Valley Royal Hospital maternity ward.

Forty-one-year-old Steven is a lorry driver and Lyndsay (36) works for an IT firm in Alloa.

Lyndsay returned home to Burnbrae, Sauchie, with little Holly on Boxing Day.

All the family are now set to enjoy the rest of the festive break with new addition Holly.

Lyndsay said on Tuesday: “Holly is doing fine.

“She was one week early, but she’s doing brilliantly. She’s been sleeping a lot on my chest.

“Molly really loves her wee sister.

“She’s been up since 6am this morning asking if she can hold Holly.

“The family hasn’t really had a Christmas this year, but now Holly is here we can all relax.

“We couldn’t have had a better Christmas present to be honest.”
