Family tribute to "beloved" dad of three, 29, who died in Cheshire road smash

A family has paid tribute to a "beloved" dad-of-three killed in a road smash in Cheshire. Chris Parsons, 29, died as he returned home after doing a friend a good turn.

He was the driver of a black Renault Clio involved in a three-vehicle accident on the A500 in Barthomley, near Crewe, on June 16. He died at the scene.

Mr Parsons was from Mostyn in Flintshire. His family are being supported by specialist officers. In a joint tribute, his family said: “Our beloved Chris sadly passed away on Thursday 16 June 2022 aged 29 years old. Words can’t describe the heartache we as a family are going through. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and loving father to his 3 amazing children who he will be sorely missed by.

“He was an amazing, kind, caring wonderful person who would go above and beyond for absolutely anyone. We will not be making further comment as we still are yet to find out the conclusion of the investigation to determine exactly what happened and we kindly wish that our privacy as a family is respected at this time. Rest In Peace Shifty, fly high, gone but never forgotten.”

The family have also set up a fundraising page to raise money towards funeral costs, to "get Chris the send off he deserves". You can donate to the fundraising page here.

Writing on the online donation page, Chris' brother, Ben Parsons said: "I am writing this in total disbelief, yesterday (June 16 ) our Chris was driving home from helping a mate out on a job and was unfortunately involved in a three vehicle accident with Chris and his car being the worst involved he sadly lost his life at the scene.

"I am writing this for some kind of help to take the stress of the costs off our mother and his children's mother at such a difficult time with such sudden events we just aren't financially ready for this. We as a family would be forever grateful for your help.

"Let's get Chris the send off he deserves. 29 is just too young to be taken. Fly high my brother, you will be forever loved and missed by all of your family and friends your 3 kids and everyone you ever crossed paths with."

Officers are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have dashcam footage or witnessed the collision to get in touch. The other vehicles involved were a red Ford Fiesta and a blue Seat Ateca. The accident happened at 4.45pm on June 16th.
