A family originally from Hong Kong has moved 6,000 miles to Nottingham after choosing to prioritise their two daughter’s educations. Kenneth Ng and his family moved to Newton Garden Village in Nottinghamshire, explaining that the less stressful environment is part of the reason he "hugely admires the UK's educational system."
Kenneth’s main reason for traveling to the UK was for daughters Cloris, aged 10, and Carine, aged eight. He said: “My whole family have now migrated to the UK and the family who already lived here spoke very highly of the educational system in the UK.
“I believe moving to this country was the best move for my daughters as I hugely admire the UK’s educational system and my daughters can now study under a less stressful environment."

Kenneth and his wife Charis were on the lookout for a new-build property which was close to good schools while having lots of green space in the surrounding area.
Kenneth added: “We knew we wanted a new-build property as it was easier for an overseas buyer and the warranty offer was attractive to us. I studied different developers and locations. Eventually, I chose Redrow because of the stylish house design, good reputation and lovely environment of Newton Garden Village.
“Newton Garden Village is close to plenty of great schools as well as not being far from larger cities like Nottingham – so it was the perfect place for us.”
The family travelled to the UK in February 2022 and have now moved into a four-bedroomed property. He added: “Once I brought the property, we were all longing for the new house and life in the UK.
“The first day we came to the development, despite our tiredness after the long trip from Hong Kong, we were so excited as everything was beyond our expectations. The environment is lovely, and the development has so many open spaces. We were so happy.”
Kenneth and his family have now settled into their home and his daughter are attending a local primary school.
Ryan O’Sullivan, sales director at Redrow East Midlands, said commented: “It is pleasure to welcome Kenneth and his family to our Newton Garden Village development in Nottinghamshire.
“We are pleased to hear that the family have settled in well to their new home and that Cloris and Carine are enjoying their new school and we look forward to continuing to see the development grow into a thriving community.”
