Family spends £2.9k on 40ft Santa for garden - and it turned out much bigger than planned

It may be mid-November but that's not stopped some people from getting started on the Christmas decorations.

One family, who decided to go all out and spend a whopping £2.9k on decorations, got a shock when the 40-foot inflatable Santa arrived at their front door.

Kiel James Patrick, who is on TikTok as @kjp, and his family decided they wanted a big Father Christmas to stand outside their house to get into the festive spirit early, but hadn't comprehended just how big it would actually be.

In the video, Kiel said: "We bought a 40-foot Santa from Amazon to decorate our yard for Christmas.

“He ended up being a bit bigger than we were expecting!”

The video then cuts to footage of the Santa, which can be purchased from Amazon for $3459.99, being unwrapped from its box and being rolled out onto the grass in front of their house.

As they begin to blow up the inflatable Santa they began to realise just how large the decoration was going to be as it towered above the house.

Kiel said: “My four-year-old and neighbours loved it.”

Later he joked with his followers: “Need to put Santa up on Airbnb, just his right leg is bigger than my living room.”

The video was a hit with many of Kiel's followers who couldn't help but comment on how ridiculously silly the couple had been.

One wrote: “Ended up being bigger than we expected. SIR it is a 40ft Santa.”

Another said: “The way it covers the entire house" followed by laughing emojis.

A third wrote: “Your goal is being able to see your house from space, isn’t it? Love it!”

And: "Good luck putting that back in the box!”
