A family who took their own food into a pub to eat have been the subject of a heated discussion online, with some calling them "well cheeky".
One mum took to Mumsnet to share the story after noticing the group of people bringing in "picnic food" from a nearby supermarket into their local pub.
Writing on the online forum, she said: "Is this a thing now? When is it OK to occupy an outdoor table at a pub and consume your own picnic food that you've brought from the supermarket next door?

"Family of five - three adults. If you've bought drinks from the pub, does this make it acceptable? Pub has a menu offering a comprehensive range of meals; starters, mains, puddings, sharer plates & snacks."
She continued: "Sunny afternoon - pub heaving, table space space. This has to be the highest level of CF*ckery, surely?"
Since being shared, the post has received dozens of comments from fellow Mumsnet users giving their thoughts on the incident.
One wrote: "That is well cheeky, I'm surprised the pub hasn't said anything".
"You'd get thrown out if you that it most pubs," a second revealed.
"Most pubs I know will ask you to leave," echoed a third.
A fourth posted: "It's a terrible way to behave."
Another stated: "If the pub didn’t serve food probably okay but if they have food then no very cheeky! It’s like going to an Indian restaurant having a drink but eating your takeaway there instead of ordering the menu as it’s cheaper!"
Others felt there was nothing wrong with the family bringing their own food to the pub, with one writing: "Going to a pub for lunch today. Can almost guarantee that despite the “extensive menu” there will be nothing for me to eat. I’ll be taking food assuming that is the case."
A second argued: "I wouldn’t do it, but it is 100 per cent normal to occupy a pub table and have drinks, without even packets of nuts / crisps. So it’s the same to the pub as a ‘drinks only’ table.
"As long as all the mess is cleared up, rubbish taken away and you don’t use the pub condiments."
