Family's nightmare as car robbed in Dublin with 10-month-old baby in back seat

Gardai have launched an inquiry after a baby boy was found abandoned on the side of a road in Dublin after a car was stolen.

The shocking incident took place on Sunday on St Attracta Road in Cabra shortly after 7pm.

It is understood that a car was taken from a family by a man, with a 10-month-old baby remaining on board.

The child was later found uninjured, according to gardai.

A Garda spokesman said: "Gardai are investigating the unauthorised taking of a vehicle that occurred on St Attracta Road, Dublin 7, shortly after 7pm on Sunday 21st August 2022.

“An infant passenger that was in the vehicle at the time was found shortly after uninjured.”

The spokesman said a "definite line of inquiry" is being followed.

“No arrests have been made, however gardai are following a definite line of inquiry. Investigations are ongoing.”
