A family have been left devastated after their daughter reportedly died of Covid complications.
Cassidy Baracka, seven, died on January 18 as her "manner of death" is currently being investigated.
The girl, from Massachusetts, has been described as "sweet" as her community has come together to honour her by decorating the neighbourhood with pink ribbons tied to letterboxes and trees.
Hundreds of tributes have been shared on social media.
One wrote: "Rest easy sweet Cassidy". Others have sent their love to Cassidy's family.
Cassidy was described as "sweet" and was remembered for her "hilarious jokes" and "kind, helpful and inclusive spirit".
Her obituary read: "It was very hard not to smile when you met or ran into Cassidy because she smiled all the time and told hilarious jokes.
"She was very inquisitive and smart with just the right amount of sass.
"She loved her mother very much. The pair did everything together."
Cassidy was an avid dancer, singer, gymnast and " all-around artistic child" who "coloured and drew rainbows on a daily basis, and loved to make pictures for people to thank them or to brighten their day."
Cassidy is survived by her mum Donna and her grandfather Walter Maziarki.
The obituary read: "She loved her mother very much. The pair did everything together, including attending over a hundred Bruins games since her birth, multiple trips to Disney World, a Disney Cruise and attending 2 showings of Disney on Ice annually.
“Her place in our hearts will never be full again.”
Country Kids Child Development Center, where Cassidy was a student, shared details on Facebook about a memorial fund established at Citizens Bank in her community of Groton.
The centre wrote: "Cassidy was such a fun-loving, spirited young girl who always arrived at school with a big glowing smile, eager to start her days with friends and teachers.
"She touched so many lives with her big loving heart, contagious laugh, and remarkable sense of humour.
“We are all beyond heartbroken by this devastating loss, of such a beautiful young child. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to Cassidy’s family, friends, young classmates, and to all that knew her during this extremely difficult time.”
It continued: "Cassidy was always a great friend to sit beside & turn to, and a tree planted will cherish her continued growth at a place where her roots have made such a profound, and permeant impact on all those that loved her so very much."
An investigation has not yet determined a cause of death, and the district attorney's office investigates all child deaths, MCVB reports.
