Family's 'disbelief and anger' as 'bright, bubbly' woman killed in horror car crash

A family has paid tribute to a mum who died after the car she was in crashed into a tree.

Shannon Hunt's life came to an end when the Audi car in which she was a passenger, was involved in the collision.

An inquest has opened into her tragic death which happened last month.

The 24-year-old, who was mum to a little boy, died at the scene around 9.30pm on June 17.

Marianne Johnson, East Lincolnshire assistant coroner, opened an inquest at Cleethorpes Town Hall.

GrimsbyLive reports Ms Johnson saying she was a passenger in the Audi, along with two other passengers and a driver.

After the hearing a family spokesperson said: ''Shannon's death is still very fresh and painful to us.

"The disbelief and anger at all the yet to be clarified circumstances that led to her untimely demise is still very raw for us.

"It feels unforgiveable that such a young, precious life was taken in a car accident, which we strongly believe was needless and avoidable.

"As your name is listed amongst others, we don't want her to just be another statistic for car accidents.

"We remember a girl who was full of life, a bright bubbly character and a thoughtful soul.

"We miss her beautiful smile and beautiful laugh."
