A woman was reduced to tears following a random act of kindness by a little girl and her dad. The two-year-old's gesture just days before Christmas brought joy to a complete stranger.
Connor Moreland, with his daughter, decided to spread some festive cheer to someone who may not have enough at this time of year. The idea struck the dad as he was wrapping gifts with his partner Danielle.
On a trip to their local Asda, the pair bought a bottle of alcohol, a box of chocolates and a gift bag. And it was down to daughter Miley to choose a house at random, the Liverpool Echo reports.
She picked a home with few lights. Her dad recalled how his daughter beamed with pride when the lady came to the door.
Conor said he wanted to teach his daughter the gift of spreading joy and that he could see the woman was overwhelmed with thankfulness, as he noticed she had tears in her eyes. He said: "She was just made up.
"And my daughter loved it. I couldn't get her to stop speaking, as soon as she opened the door she said Merry Christmas and started telling her what she wanted.. I just thought it would be nice to cheer someone up and the woman was super grateful.
"It made her day, it was so nice. I think it's important to teach a child to think of others, not just at Christmas but all the time. It's nice to help people and remember people but more importantly to make sure they know it's not all about you, it's about doing things for others.
"She's a good girl. And the family we gave to were just lovely."
Miley's grandad shared the heart-warming story on social media. He added: "The lady accepted the gifts and started to cry, saying what a lovely daughter he had and a lovely gesture, she asked for a cuddle. My granddaughter proceeded to tell her what she would like off Santa, she's pretty bright for her age, got into a full conversation. She went in and gave her a lollypop.
"I would just like to say how proud I am of him and her for making a random person so happy. She did say how hard it's been for her and wished them both a very very merry Christmas. It's lovely to take some time and just have a thought for others."
The post even inspired others. One person wrote in the comments: "What a kind thing to do and very thoughtful. He sounds like a rare diamond. A keeper. Good luck and Merry Christmas."
Another said: "Well done that man!! Merry Christmas to you all, really makes you warm inside." A third added: "What a lovely thing to do. I think I’ll do this with my boys later today."
