Family-run Bearsden Italian restaurant to shut doors after seven years

A family-run Italian restaurant in Bearsden is set to close its doors after seven years of delighting locals.

Raffaelle’s, which is located on Milngavie Road, has been a go-to for hungry residents for the best part of a decade.

However, the owners have made the tough decision to call time on the eatery with their final day of operation taking place this Sunday, January 8.

They posted on Facebook: "It’s goodbye from us at Raffaelle’s.

"After a wonderful 7 years, it’s with great sadness we announce the closure of Raffaelle’s Italian Kitchen & Bar.

"We have spent the last 7 years building a business we are so proud of. The decision has not come lightly but we are prioritising our family health and closing this chapter in our lives. We want to thank you for all your support over the years, especially through a very challenging time, Covid. Our last day trading will be Sunday 8th January, we hope you can pop in for our final week for one last time.

A number of commenters praised the owners for the impact they have made in the area.

One wrote: "Thank you for everything, Ralph and Laura, the restaurant is a fabulous addition to the services on Milngavie road."

Others were upset to see the era come to an end.

A commenter said: "I was so sad to receive your email. Thanks for so many fabulous lunches and dinners over the years. You will be a huge loss!"
