The family of a 'Papa' who died in a horror crash in the Highlands have paid tribute to him.
Kenneth Gillon was one of several people involved in the collision on the A832 near Dundonnell at around 11.30am on Wednesday August 31.
Emergency services raced to the area but despite their best efforts, he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The 69-year-old, from Auchterarder, has now been formally identified by Police Scotland.
In a statement issued through the force, Kenneth's family said he will be much missed as a husband, father and ‘Papa’ to his granddaughters, Harriet and Hope.
He was a retired computer programmer with a passion for golf and a keen supporter of Dundee United Football Club.
The crash involved a black Kia Sportage and a silver Kia Venga. Kenneth had been a passenger in one of the vehicles.
The driver of the Kia Venga, a 63-year-old woman, and a passenger of the Kia Sportage, a 72-year-old woman were seriously injured.
They were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance.
The driver of the Kia Sportage, a 77-year-old man, and a 75-year-old female passenger were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness via ambulance for treatment.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Kenneth’s family and with the other people injured in this crash.
“Our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and would appeal to anyone who has any information to come forward and speak to police.
“I would also ask if there are any motorists who have possible dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident to get in touch with officers.”
