Family pay tribute to 'nine going on 19' Olivia Pratt-Korbel

Olivia Pratt-Korbel's family have paid tribute to the "unique" little girl who was shot dead.

On Monday, August 22, an unknown gunman targeted two men on Kingsheath Avenue in Dovecot at around 10pm. Olivia's mum opened the door to see what was happening on her street before one of the targets, Joseph Nee, forced his way into the home.

The gunman followed before opening fire into the home, with a bullet hitting Olivia's mum, Cheryl, in the arm before fatally hitting the nine-year-old who was stood behind her. The gunman then shot 35-year-old Nee before running away.

A dark-coloured Audi then appeared at the scene and took Nee to hospital, leaving Olivia and her mum at the house. Police arrived and rushed Olivia to Alder Hey hospital, where she later died. Paying tribute to the schoolgirl, her family said Olivia was "adored by everyone."

They said: “Liv was a unique chatty, nosey little girl who broke the mould when she was born. She loved life and all it had to offer. Liv loved dressing up and was very particular on how she was dressed, like any other little girl she loved doing her makeup and nails, she was nine going on 19.

“Liv was adored by everyone who knew her and would instantly make friends with anyone and everyone. She was often seen going up and down the street on her new bike she had just got for her birthday. Although her life was short, her personality certainly wasn’t and she lived it to the most she could, and would blow people away with her wit and kindness.

“We as a family are heartbroken and have lost a huge part of our life. If anyone knows anything, now is the time to speak up. It is not about being a “snitch” or a “grass” it is about finding out who took our baby away from us. PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING.

“We as a family are eternally grateful for the help and support we have received from people across the world. We are also thankful to Merseyside police for the outstanding work and to the staff at Alder Hey and Aintree hospitals.”

North West Ambulance Service rushed mum Cheryl to Aintree Hospital. Merseyside Police has now confirmed at a press conference today the second suspected target of the gunman has been identified.

As well as identifying the second man, ACC Chris Green and DCS Mark Kameen confirmed that the force is now following a number of lines of enquiry into the murder of Olivia Pratt-Korbel. Thousands have since been raised for the family of Olivia, with the ECHO and Merseyside Police urging people to come forward with information relating to Olivia's murder, as well as the murder of 28-year-old Ashley Dale and 22-year-old Sam Rimmer.
