The family of a woman who died from serious injuries at her home have paid tribute to a “loving, sensitive and generous” daughter and mother.

Joanne Samak, 49, was found at the house in Chestnut Spinney, Droitwich, Worcestershire, just after 4am on Monday 1 July.

Mohammed Samak, 42, has been charged with her murder and appeared at Kidderminster magistrates court on Friday 5 July.

Police officers were called to the address following reports that a woman was injured but Joanne was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, her family said: “Jo was a loving, sensitive and generous person. She was so hard working and talented. She was looking forward to so much in her life.

“We are so thankful for Jo and have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and tributes from all who knew her.

“Jo, you are so loved by all your family and friends. Words fail us. We will continue to love and miss you for ever.”

Mohammed Samak remains in custody but is not required to attend a brief hearing at Birmingham crown court on 12 July.

He is being held at HMP Hewell and was remanded in custody until a plea hearing at Worcester crown court on 2 August, pending a two-week trial due to start at the same court on 4 November.

Joanne Samak’s cause of death has not yet been disclosed by West Mercia police.
