Family of tragic Tallaght twins gather on their birthday weeks after killings

There were heartbreaking scenes at the graves of tragic Tallaght twins Christy and Chelsea Cawley as their close family and friends marked the siblings' 9th birthday.

Tragic Christy and Chelsea and their older sister Lisa, 18, were killed in their own home in Rossfield Avenue in south Dublin on September 4. Their older brother Andy Cash, 24, was later charged with their murder.

On Wednesday, November 2, All Saints Day, Christy and Chelsea would have turned nine years of age.

To mark the tragic twins' birthday, close family members and friends gathered at their graveside where they adorned the beautifully decorated graves with pink and blue balloons and large banners featuring photos of the twins captioned with ‘Happy heavenly birthday our little twins.”

The heartbroken family sang ‘Happy birthday’ while holding pink and blue balloons before releasing the balloons into the sky at Bohernabreena cemetery. A special birthday cake for the twins was placed at the front of the grave while a firework sparkler was let off.

Prayers were also said at the graveside by Fr Paul O’Driscoll, Parish Priest of the Travelling People.
