The family of RTE Toy Show favourite Saoirse Ruane have been left reeling after an extremely kind gesture from a complete stranger.
The 10-year-old Galway girl recently came home from hospital after undergoing major surgery to remove a tumour on her lung.
The family has received an outpouring of support from well-wishers after Saoirse captured people's hearts during her Late Late Toy Show appearance.
One person went a step further over the weekend by giving the Ruane family a gift in a random act of kindness.
Saoirse's mother Roseanna shared the news on Instagram by posting a video of the brave young girl, as well as her dad and younger sister, on Sunday.
The video was captioned: "We are still reeling from the fact that someone we don’t even know, left this beautiful Cherry Blossom for Saoírse on our drive way last night.
"The kindness of people (even strangers) never ceases to amaze us.
"Saoírse picked the perfect spot to plant it this morning and Dadda Ollie and Farrah Rose were a big help!
"Saoírse had mentioned to me that she wanted to plant a tree to mark the start of this next journey, and it makes me really wonder about the power of the universe and how after a day spent in our garden, this beautiful gift was sitting in our driveway.
"To the lovely family from Wexford who did this, THANK YOU."
It comes after Roseanna revealed earlier this week that her beloved daughter is “back home where she belongs” an amazing nine days after cancer surgery.
“9 days post-surgery and our girl is back home where she belongs. It’s very surreal to think she’s home and that she is making such a remarkable recovery,” she said on Friday.
"It’s very surreal to think she’s home and that she is making such a remarkable recovery.
"If I never knew the answer to the question“who is your hero?” I certainly know it now….
"Saoírse you really are a very SPECIAL girl and we are so glad you chose us to be your parents.
"It’s been our privilege to sit by your bedside these past few weeks and help you in whatever way you needed!
"We may be on the sideline, but we are your biggest cheerleaders and we will fight your corner everytime.
"Thank you to everyone as always for your continued support. We really believe all the prayers and masses are the reason she is so good today and we ask you to please continue as we continue on this journey."
