Family of missing Fermanagh man Frank McCaughey last seen in Germany issue renewed appeal

A family has issued a renewed appeal for information on the whereabouts of missing Co Fermanagh man Frank McCaughey.

Frank, 29, is believed to be in Germany having travelled there from Denmark where he was first reported missing after not contacting his family for a number of weeks.

Now Frank’s family say German police have told them that he has been sighted in Berlin after being admitted to hospital after taking a seizure.

However, Frank’s brother Conan says none of his family or friends have heard from him in almost two months.

“Frank is in Berlin as far as we know but there hasn’t been any sightings of him since the end of August,” Conan said.

“The German police have told us they were speaking with him and from the conversations we have had he has indicated he doesn’t want to come home.

“We’re still very worried and concerned about him and we want to just tell him that we miss him, especially our mum.

“It was out of the blue we found out that he lost his phone and it’s just so unlike him not to be in contact, especially for this amount of time.”

The PSNI are still continuing to assist the McCaughey family, and Conan says they are increasingly worried as it has been two weeks since German police say they spoke with Frank.

“All we want is for him to reach out to family or friends to let us know he is OK- and he’s safe,” Conan said.

“Frank has mental health issues and the longer it goes on the more worried we are that something bad will happen to him.”

Frank’s family have appealed for anyone who may be in Berlin or visiting Berlin with information on his whereabouts to contact Conan on conanmccaughey@outlook.com.
