People will come together to pay their respects to a Merseyside journalist who was murdered in the Amazon rainforest earlier this year.
Dom Phillips, from Bebington, Wirral, was shot dead on June 5 after travelling to a remote part of the rainforest in western Brazil with indigenous expert Bruno Pereira. Mr Phillips was on a trip researching for a book exploring the role of indigenous communities in protecting the rainforest and stabilising the climate.
The 57-year-old had been living in Brazil for more than a decade, during which time he garnered a reputation as a highly-respected journalist with a deep knowledge of the region. He was also a long-time contributor to the Guardian newspaper.

According to the BBC, both Phillips and Pereira had been threatened for their work in the local area, which has seen illegal fishing, logging, mining and drug trafficking. Their bodies were discovered on June 13, and three men have since been charged with their murder.
Mr Phillips' funeral was held on June 16 in Rio de Janeiro, however the journalist's family, friends and former classmates are being invited to come together and pay their own tributes in a remembrance mass at his former school in Birkenhead. Mr Phillips won a scholarship to St Anslem's College, and mass will be offered at the school's Outwood House Chapel next month.
The annual remembrance mass will take place at 11am on Saturday, November 5. The service will also pay tribute to other former students, relatives and friends of the college who have passed away in the last 12 months.
Anyone wishing to attend the mass should email billiveson37@gmail.com .
