The family of Joshua Roberts say they are "still waiting for answers" three weeks after he tragically lost his life. 19-year-old Joshua Roberts from Caernarfon in Gwynedd died following an incident between Peblig Industrial Estate and Caeathro.
The teenager's death rocked the local community in Caernarfon and further afield, with Josh a well-known football fan and a student at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Josh was also a keen supporter of his local Caernarfon Town FC and of the Wales national team, he had previously played for his home town club, as well as Bontnewydd FC and Cardiff Met FC.
Josh was sadly pronounced dead on the A4085 Ffordd Waunfawr in Caeathro just outside Caernarfon on Friday, June 2. Three days later, a 19-year-old was arrested in connection with his death, but North Wales Police later confirmed that no further action would be taken against him. On Friday, June 9, police said a 32-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving before being released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police said at the time that inquiries were ongoing and officers remained keen to secure dash cam footage of the incident. Josh has since been laid to rest after hundreds of mourners lined the streets of Caernarfon to bid him farewell and over £20,000 has been raised for his family by his former football club, CPD Bontnewydd, who also organised a charity match in his memory.
North Wales Live reports that there have been no further updates from the police since June 8 and Josh's mother, Melanie Tookey, has said the family was hoping there would be some movement soon. Speaking to North Wales Live, she said: "The last update we had was on June 8 and we've not had anything since. It's been three weeks now since he died and we're still waiting for answers."
Melaine added: "He wasn't on some big night out, he was just playing some bingo in Glan Gwna - I want people to know that. We hope that police will be able to give us an update soon." Safety concerns were raised about the A4085 Ffordd Waunfawr earlier this month.
Previous accidents and the layout of the road "strongly suggest that the site is dangerous", Siân Gwenllian MS, Hywel Williams MP, Caernarfon Town Mayor Cai Larsen, and local councillors Menna Trenholme and Dewi Wyn Jones have said in a joint letter to the council. Cyngor Gwynedd has been urged to assess the safety of the A4085 entering Caeathro and to carry out any improvements needed on the stretch of road as soon as possible. The council says it will work closely with North Wales Police and consider any steps that need to be taken based on the conclusions of their investigation.
The letter read: "We are sending you this letter following the recent car accident on the A4085 near Glan Gwna Holiday Park, which resulted in the death of a young man from Caernarfon. We're sure you will be aware that another fatal accident happened very close to this location in the past.
"The accidents, as well as the appearance of this part of the road, strongly suggest that the site is dangerous, and we are very concerned that another serious accident will happen there sooner or later. We therefore ask you to carry out an inspection of this part of the road in order to assess its safety and make any improvements that are needed as soon as possible."
In response, a Cyngor Gwynedd spokesperson said: "We sympathise deeply with the family and friends of Josh Roberts at this sad and difficult time. As in the case of all fatal accidents, we will work closely with the police and consider if there are any steps that need to be taken based on the conclusions of the investigation."
