Family of Hamilton teenager 'worried sick' as police launch missing person hunt

The family of a Hamilton teenager are ‘worried sick’ after he failed to return home this weekend.

Oran O’Neill was last seen leaving his home address on Sunday afternoon, before being reported as missing to Police Scotland. His sister shared a social media appeal for assistance in finding Oran, writing: “This is totally out of character for Oran not to return home and we are scared that he is in harm.”

Known to visit the Glasgow city centre area, Oran is described as 5ft 9in tall, with a skinny build and short, brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black Nike top, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “We are appealing for information to help trace 17-year-old Oran O’Neill from Hamilton.

“He was last seen around 1.30pm on Sunday, November 6, and is known to sometimes travel to the Glasgow city centre area. It is out of character for him to not keep in touch with his family, who are growing increasingly concerned for him.

“He is 5ft 9in, with a skinny build and has short brown hair. He was wearing a black Nike top, black jogging bottoms and black trainers when last seen.

“We’re urging anyone with information to please contact 101, quoting reference 3547 of November 6.”
