The family of a man stabbed and then battered to death with a crutch during a “senseless” mass brawl in north London have spoken of their pain as they pleaded for justice.
Father-of-two Gregory Castillo Volquez, 36, was found injured outside a block of flats in Tiverton Road, Tottenham, around 5am on January 13.
Mr Castillo Volquez, from the Dominican Republic, had gone there after visiting bars with a friend in Brixton and Elephant and Castle the previous evening.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to reports of people fighting with knives in an alleyway.
Homicide detectives believe there may have been witnesses in the area who saw the attack and hold valuable information.
In a statement, Mr Castillo Volquez’s relatives said: ‘Gregory was a much-loved son, father and friend, and his family is heartbroken by this loss.
“Even the smallest detail could be crucial.
“Please come forward and help us get justice for Gregory.”

Mr Castillo Volquez was found lying on the ground, partially beneath a parked car.
He suffered multiple stab wounds to the front and back, had a serious head injury. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
A provisional cause of death was later found to be sharp force trauma to the torso.
On Wednesday, officers who called the murder “senseless” visited the scene to talk to Haringey residents.
Speaking outside the address where it took place, Detective Chief Inspector Jim Barry, said: “This violent attack ripped a father away from his two children.
“Since January, the incident has massively impacted those close to Gregory and local residents.
“This is why it’s imperative we work together to secure justice.
“Anyone with information must share it with us, no matter how small they deem it to be. We are committed to working alongside those who provide statements throughout the judicial process.”
Two men charged with murder - Benito Ramirez Kones, 19, of Islington, and Gabriel Francisco Pineda Gonzalez, 20, of Brixton - are due to stand trial at the Old Bailey on October 20.
Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting 809/13JAN, or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111.
