The family of a British woman who fell 60ft from a Thailand balcony and may never walk again has raised over £75,000 in three days to bring her home.
Maddi Neale-Shankster, 21, from Coventry, West Midlands, was halfway through a holiday in Ko Pha-Ngan with her partner and friends when the accident occurred.
She suffered a broken back, two collapsed lungs and her ribs pierced her liver.
Her condition has, however, improved significantly following emergency surgery earlier this week.
Mum Karen Moseley-Neale flew from the UK to be at her daughter's bedside.
She also organised a GoFundMe page which has rapidly raised tens of thousands after it was found Maddi's insurance didn't cover the cost of bringing her home safely.
Karen said it will also cover associated medical costs back home.
In an update on the crowdfunding page yesterday, she said: "We can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity, well wishes and support."

Karen told the BBC: "Before the accident, I was on Facetime to Maddi.
"An hour later we got a phone call from her partner and all I can hear is Maddi screaming in the background and the sirens blaring."
Describing her daughter since the surgery, she added: "She's really well in herself, she's sitting up, she's certainly found her sense of humour. She's actually lucky to be here only for the grace of God and the surgeons."
The mum urged anyone travelling abroad to check their insurance cover carefully.
Maddi - a beauty therapist - had accidentally taken out holiday insurance worth 10,000 baht (£247), rather than £10,000.
Speaking to The Metro, she previously questioned the safety levels of the accommodation where her daughter was staying.
Photos showed how the balcony of the property was secured only by a low wooden bannister rail.
She said: “The pictures we have of the balcony where she fell are outrageous, you would never get away with that in the UK.
“Maddi had been working hard to move into her own premises in the spring and had a bright and promising year ahead of her."
The situation was compounded by ambulance staff taking nearly 40 minutes to arrive – and she was allegedly pick-pocketed on the same night.
Her cards and money were stolen, and were only with her because the “security in their room was horrendous”.
Maddi was taken to the Surat Thani International Hospital.
A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesman said: “We are providing assistance to the family of a British woman who has been hospitalised in Thailand.”
