The family of a 70-year-old man missing in Victoria's high country have joined the search, as another night of sub-zero temperatures looms.
Victoria Police Inspector Paul Hargreaves said Christos' children had joined about 100 other volunteers today.
"A couple of his sons, his daughter, and a few others are out today helping them search," he said.
"We've got a police member with them and they've gone out to few areas thinking, 'Where would dad go? What would he do?'."
His family issued a statement thanking volunteers and "praying" for his return.
"We are devastated knowing that our dad Christos is still missing in Mount Hotham's high country," the family said.
"He is a grandfather to four beautiful granddaughters and we know he would love to see them again."
Conditions worsen
Christos was last seen on Big Muster Drive at Mount Hotham at about 2:45pm on Friday.
Police Search and Rescue Squad Acting Sergeant Joel Magno-Thronton said conditions had worsened since.
"The temperature has dropped 10 degrees [Celsius] since the search has started," he said.
"It's cold and the wind chill is about —12C.
"We've got to be very mindful of where we're putting our people."
Snow was again forecast for Tuesday night, slowing search efforts.
State Emergency Service Commander Josephine Hunter said their most experienced alpine rescue members were helping the search.
"Because of the conditions and the terrain we've put some of our most experienced and skilled searchers out there," she said.
"Obviously they're battling the conditions as well as a number of obstacles in the field."
