'MEMORY'

What it’s about: An assassin in the early stages of Alzheimer's does one last gig, but he's quickly turning his gun on those who hired him.

The kid attractor factor: Not much, this is more of an adult revenge thriller.

Good lessons/bad lessons: There are some moral codes that one must abide by, no matter what

Violence: Some extreme bloody violence: shootings, stranglings, throat-cutting, beatings, as well as indications of sexual violence.

Language: Swearing throughout

Sex: References to the sexual abuse of minors, sexual exploitation, sex trafficking and sex work

Parents’ advisory: This is very violent and deals with mature themes; for mature teens only, not appropriate for kids.

What it’s about: A Finnish horror fairy tale about a girl who hatches a bird monster from an egg she finds in the forest, discovering a creature who is the embodiment of her darkest impulses.

The kid attractor factor: This film focuses on a young tween character, so kids might be drawn to that element, but this is more for adults who are fans of international genre cinema.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Repressing emotions can lead to scary consequences, and perfectionism is toxic.

Violence: Some bloody, violent attacks on young characters, a scary monster, horror/slasher elements.

Language: None

Sex: References to sex and infidelity.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: While this is more for adult audiences, younger teens who are fans of genre cinema may enjoy this one.
