Family guide to new movie releases

'JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4'

Rated R for pervasive strong violence and some language.

What it’s about: America's favorite assassin fights for his freedom, through Osaka, Berlin and Paris.

The kid attractor factor: Not much — this is an action movie for grown-ups.

Good lessons/bad lessons: First and foremost, be nice to dogs.

Violence: Extreme violence throughout (this is a John Wick movie). The body count is high, the guns plentiful, swordplay frequent. Very violent. It's a movie about a shadowy underworld of assassins.

Language: Swearing throughout.

Sex: None

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Adults only please! Too violent for kids.

'THE LOST KING'

Rated PG-13 for some strong language and brief suggestive references.

What it’s about: Based on the true story of Philippa Langley, who found the lost remains of Richard III in Leicester, England, in hopes of burnishing his reputation.

The kid attractor factor: Not much, but perhaps an appeal for history or Shakespeare buffs.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Advocate for yourself, refrain from judging others based on their own hardships, don't accept all common knowledge as fact, the truth can be far more complex.

Violence: None

Language: Some language.

Sex: None, just some references to divorced parents dating.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Fine for older kids and teens, if they are interested.
