Family festivals you can still get tickets for this year

Festivals aren't just for university students anymore and the world of camping has become big business.

No matter what you are into there is a festival for it and even if you have little ones, there is an amazing variety of events that cater just for families. We have had a look at all the entertainment you can still get tickets for before the season really starts to kick off.

So if you didn't get Glastonbury tickets this year, you could take your little tribe of toddlers to one of the many festivals within a short drive of Merseyside that are aimed at kids and or are very family friendly.

Geronimo - May 26-29

Dubbed the 'Glastonbury for kids', Geronimo this year will take place in May and has glamping and camping tickets as well as day tickets available. In previous years the festival has had many of the Cbeebies favourites taking to the main stage to entertain the crowds of tiny festival goers.

So far, this year they have confirmed DJs Big Fish, Little Fish, motorbike stunt riders Little Tigers, a circus, a sandy beach, Silly Science centre, crazy golf, jousting, cardboard city, dinosaur experience, a sheep show and a variety of live music. Geronimo takes place in the grounds of Arley Hall in Cheshire.

Ticket information:

Carers, under twos and senior citizens all get in for free.

Day tickets cost £20 and car park pass is £11.20

All camping passes have sold out, but you can still purchase the glamping package, which includes four weekend gold festival passes, car park pass and bell tent with two single airbeds and one double for £628.95

Deva Fest - August 11-13

This year Deva Fest will take place in the grounds of Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire. While this is not aimed at children specifically, the organisers themselves say they have a lot of families attending and try to accommodate for this. All fairground rides at the festival are free.

They also boast about their festival toilets being some of the best, with "proper flushes". This year Deva Fest will have a 'Kids Kingdom', circus workshops and shows, watersports and live music from Feeder, Will Young, Morcheeba, Fleur East and Starsailor.

Car parking is free.

Under fives must have a ticket, but they are free.

Friday tickets: Family ticket £115, adult ticket £44.50, teen (13-17) £24.50, child (5-12) £19.50

Saturday tickets: Family ticket £130, adult ticket £49.50, teen (13-17) £29.50, child (5-12) £24.50

Sunday tickets: Family ticket £115, adult ticket £44.50, teen (13-17) £24.50, child (5-12) £19.50

Full weekend tickets: Family ticket £240, adult ticket £99.50, teen (13-17) £55, child (5-12) £45

Full weekend camping tickets: Family ticket £357.50, adult ticket £148.50, teen (13-17) £76.45, child (5-12) £54.45

Camp Bestival (Shropshire) - August 17-20

Big names including Primal Scream, Rudimental, The Human Leauge, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Sam Ryder will all be in the line up for Camp Bestival at Weston Park in Shropshire. It has won the 'Best Family Festival' award six times and has a huge kids' garden for children to enjoy.

It also has a soft play area, circus skills and bouncy castle. And this year the organisers have promised more watersports including raft building and kayaking. They will also have a new circus area and roller disco.

Ticket information:

Full weekend camping tickets: Adults £180, teens (13-17) £137.50, 10-12 year olds £112.50, five to nine year olds £92.50, ages two to four £72.50 and ages one and under go free.

Weekend car parking: £21.50 plus booking fee

Camping plot: £160

Campervans and caravans cost extra.

Just So Festival - August 18-20

Taking place at Rode Hall in Cheshire, this festival has been growing in popularity. This year they will have a DJ set from mummy blogger Mother Pukka, a silent disco, The hare and Moon Suitcase Show, Bollywood dancing, campfire stories and midnight feasts.

Centred around literature, arts, theatre, dance and music, the festival aims to strike a chord with everyone aged from bump to great grandparents alongside some boutique camping options.

Ticket information:

Day tickets: adults £69.55, children (3-15) £32.10, and under threes are free.

Car parking is £16.05

Weekend camping tickets: adults £187.25, children (3-15) £64.20
