Michelle Pettie, 45, has been reported missing from Eildon Crescent in Melrose, the Borders, and hasn't been seen since Tuesday September 6. Police have launched a frantic appeal for information in their bid to trace Michelle.

She is described as white, around 5ft 3 in height, of slight build with dyed red/auburn hair. When last seen, Michelle is believed to have been wearing a black jacket and jeans.

Inspector David Robertson of Melrose Police Station said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Michelle’s welfare and are asking for the public's assistance to help trace her. Her family are extremely worried about her and just want to know that she is safe and well.

“Michelle is known to frequent the Galashiels area and was reported to have been seen there near the shops on Hawthorn Road around 9am on Friday, September 9. If you think you may have seen Michelle or have any information as to her whereabouts, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
