A search is ongoing for a 29-year-old man who has now been missing from his home for seven weeks, leaving his family desperate for answers. James Beer was last seen at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, May 17. Despite numerous appeals for information regarding his whereabouts, James has still not been found.
Described as 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build with short, light brown hair and possibly sporting a goatee, James was last seen when his mother visited his home in the Loughor area of Swansea. An image of him at a Spar shop in Loughor was captured on the morning he went missing, but there have been no confirmed sightings or further CCTV images recorded since.
A new appeal for information has been made on Thursday, with PC Phillips of South Wales Police saying: “James’s family are desperate to find him. Since he was reported missing extensive enquiries have been made to try and find him. I would ask the public to cast their minds back to May 17 and to get in touch if they have information that has not yet been shared with us.”
PC Phillips added: "The past seven weeks have been a long and difficult time for his family and despite a number of lines of inquiry his whereabouts have still not been established. Officers are continuing to act on reports which could lead to James being found, so I would urge anyone who believes they have relevant information regarding his whereabouts to contact us.”
Last month, James’ stepfather Lee Jones told WalesOnline: “It’s been incredibly traumatic for the family. It’s so out of character for James. Police have been amazing but we don’t have a starting point. After his disappearance he doesn’t appear on CCTV anywhere, not a Ring doorbell, not a business’ CCTV. We don’t know exactly what time he left or what direction he headed. It’s incredibly difficult.” You can read more about the family’s “living nightmare” here.
South Wales Police is urging anyone who may have seen James, or who may have information which will help officers find him, to contact them quoting reference number 2300163003. They can do so online, via e-mail at swp101@south-wales.police.uk, or by calling 101.
