Family appeal to bring mum and daughter home after tragic deaths in Leeds crash

The family of the mum and little girl who tragically died in a Leeds horror crash on Monday are appealing for help to bring them home.

Justyna Hulboj, 27 and her four-year-old daughter Lenka were killed when they were hit by an Audi on Scott Hall Road on Monday, January 16. They were on their way to nursery at the time.

Justyna and Lenka were originally from Poland, and Justyna's brother Mateusz is now appealing for help to bring them home for a funeral among their loved ones. He has set up a GoFundMe page with the hopes of raising the £10k needed to get the mum and daughter back home.

On the fundraiser page, Mateusz said: "We regret to inform the family, friends and colleagues on January 16, 2023, there was a tragic accident in which Justyna and her little daughter Lenka lost their lives on the way to the nursery. Their death came suddenly and unexpectedly, the family is not ready for it, so they need financial help to organize the transport from Leeds to Poland and the burial of these two Angels to send these two beautiful souls away with dignity where they will know eternal peace."

Tributes have been pouring in for Justyna and Lenka since their tragic deaths on Monday. West Yorkshire Police have said they believe the Audi was travelling in convoy with a BMW before the crash.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the collision, including a 26-year-old man and 34-year-old man on suspicion of causing two deaths by dangerous driving. A 65-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, and since bailed.

Detective Inspector Paul Conroy, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said on Monday: “This is an absolutely tragic incident, and we are working to support the family of the woman and child involved.

“We have already spoken to a number of witnesses but are keen to speak to anyone else who has witnessed the collision itself or the events leading up to it. We would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time of this collision to check their dashcam footage.”
