A family accused of leaving a pub without paying their £215 have now allegedly paid it in full - and added a tip. The group of four adults who had two children with them allegedly left The Fisherman's Arms in Newlyn, Cornwall, without paying after having a full Sunday roast with cocktails on Fathers Day.
The pub shared CCTV of the group in social media saying their bill had not been paid. The pub has now said the group contacted them and the bill has been paid in full., reports The Mirror.
They wrote on Twitter: "We wish to inform you that the individuals concerned regarding The Fathers Day incident have now contacted the pub and paid the bill in full, in fact they’ve overpaid as a gesture of goodwill. The matter is now closed!!"
Pub manager Lucy explained how the incident had happened. She said: "One of them came up to the bar, had a look at the bill and said the women were in the toilet.
"He said they were going out for a cigarette and would come back to settle up, but they left. The women weren't in the toilet, they had already left."
She added the table of six had enjoyed a three-course Sunday roast complete with cocktails and food for the young children.
Lucy said this was the first time the restaurant, which had only been open seven months, had been left short.
She then told the Daily Mail: "I have worked in the industry 14 years and this is the first time it’s happened to me, we have had people accidentally not pay and they always ring back and make it right."
