The families of the three former hostages recently released from Gaza made their first public appearance since the homecoming of their loved ones. Romi Gonen, 24; Doron Steinbrecher, 31; and Emily Damari, 28, were held captive in Gaza until their recent release. The families gathered at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv to address the media and advocate for the remaining hostages.
Yamit Ashkenazi, Steinbrecher’s sister, conveyed Doron's message, emphasizing the importance of not forgetting those still held captive. She urged the Israeli government and world leaders to continue the fight for their release. The families expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his involvement in the negotiations that led to the release of the hostages.

Meirav Leshem Gonen, Romi Gonen’s mother, acknowledged Trump's support for Israel and his role in facilitating the release. Mandy Damari, speaking on behalf of her daughter Emily, thanked the soldiers who fought in Gaza, the Israeli government, and former US Presidents Joe Biden and Donald Trump for their efforts in securing the release.
Emily Damari's brother, Tom Damari, praised his sister for her strength and resilience during the ordeal. He highlighted the long road to recovery ahead for the former hostages and called for continued support for those still in captivity. The families emphasized the need to bring all hostages home and urged the public to remain engaged in efforts to secure their release.
