A fallen tree has caused chaos on the Metrolink system on Thursday night, with trams cancelled and large numbers of passengers reportedly piling onto replacement bus services.
The issue is hitting trams between Bury and Crumpsall, Metrolink confirmed in a tweet.
They said a fallen tree was 'resting' on overhead power lines, leading to cancellations on the line during rush-hour on Thursday.

Metrolink, responding to tweets from other passengers, said staff were 'working quickly' to remove the tree from the power lines.
An exact location hasn't been revealed.
Tickets and passes are being accepted on bus services, which are reportedly very busy as a result.
No timeframe for the resumption of trams has been revealed.
Metrolink said in a tweet: "Due to a tree resting on the overhead line, there are no services operating between Bury - Crumpsall.
"Tickets & passes are being accepted on the 17, 18, 41, 52, 53, 56, 66, 90, 95, 97, 98, 112, 117, 118, 119, 135, 156, 163, 524 bus services."
In a later statement, TfGM said: "This started about 1.15pm near Whitefield. The tree has now been cut down and services are able to run normal service again.
"Minor delays remain until service reforms. Ticket acceptance will remain for a while longer."
