The Helix Visitor Centre in Falkirk has been given permission to sell alcohol from 10am every day to help tourism.
Members of Falkirk Council 's licensing board agreed the change after hearing it was to allow tourists to buy souvenirs that contain alcohol.
The board heard that some visitors have had to be refused when they were trying to buy souvenirs from the gift shop and while it is not a common occurrence, it does happen.

The centre, beside the hugely popular Kelpies in Helix Park, Falkirk, was also given permission to host alcohol tastings, as and when necessary.
The board was told there were no immediate plans for such an event.
Licensing board convener Provost Robert Bissett said he was happy to grant the application and fellow board members agreed that it should be approved.
