Ian Murray says his Airdrie players have kept cool heads all season and won't start getting wrapped up in the drama of a title battle now.
The Diamonds have been chasing Cove Rangers at the top of the table for most of the season and are currently five points adrift going into the final eight games.
The sides meet at New Broomfield at the end of the month and Airdrie would love to make up some of that deficit before then, if possible.
There's been recent opportunities missed to do that with draws against Queen's Park and Clyde, but Murray insists his players - who are on a 12-game unbeaten run - aren't getting caught up in it all and are focused on the old cliche of one game at a time.
He said: "The boys' mentality has been brilliant. We had a good chat last week about our approach to this last quarter.
"We want everyone to remain calm and don't worry about losing football games because we want to win every game.
"I don't want boys to get up tight or too excited and, full credit to them, they haven't done that.
"I think their play has shown that they are completely focused on their performances and we've got them in a really good place.
"They haven't got wrapped up in it all so we aren't going to start now.
"It's about winning the next game, but if Cove take care of their business that's just what happens."
That next game comes on Saturday away at Falkirk. Airdrie have had mixed results against the Bairns this term, winning two and losing one.
Their last visit to the Falkirk Stadium produced one of the best displays of the season, an impressive 3-0 win when Paul Sheerin was in charge, and Murray is looking for more of the same against Martin Rennie's men.
He added: "It was a great result for us there last time.
"Falkirk were in a bit of a sticky patch at that time and they still are, but they will be dying to get in the play-offs.
"They probably need to beat us to have a realistic chance to get into that top four so we need to be ready for that.
"They've had a lot of changes over the last few years with managerial and players turnarounds and it is difficult to get continuity at a club when that happens.
"But we've got to take care of our business.
"We will try and replicate all our performances against them this season, even the 2-1 we lost at home because we didn't deserve to lose that.
"We played really well in that game, so hopefully the boys go there and get those three points again."
